Mukta, a social service organization that brings good people and good causes together, stands on the power of volunteering. Our vision is to - - Create a community of passionate, driven and creative individuals who wish to propel a social change.

We believe that a strong public, private and social sector partnership is essential to create a systemic social change. Mukta aims to achieve the objective through: - Collaboration – Create an environment for cooperation and collaboration among the constituent organizations (nonprofits, corporate and government). It is in building this partnership that we could harness the power of volunteering.
- Outreach – Working with credible nonprofit organizations. We seek to identify opportunities to help volunteers and nonprofits find each other, work together and develop strong relationships.
- Communication – Disseminating information about relevant social initiatives through the website, e-groups and e-newsletters
- Empowerment – Make NGOs more effective and efficient.

Priya Kadam, Volunteer, Bangalore Chapter Whenever I used to end up searching for a place where I can feel good (as my frens put it for volunteering…..) I used to end up with nothing… I alwez used to wonder if there are any organizations which help people n need volunteers…. Lazy as I am, I didn't do much other than some browsing n this ended up in nothing. And then luckily, I came to know about Mukta from one of my acquaintances…. Honestly speaking it was another NGO when I came to know about it… But later as I met like minded people I realized that atleast few of us together can make a difference. Thts when I took it up seriously.. Seeing Mukta grow was a pleasure. One way of contributing to Mukta was to increase it's volunteer base, n my way of doing it will be to give everyone a nudge whenever required. |
